2014 Support Raising

The past 4 1/2 years serving with The Rock Campus Church at my alma mater, the University of Missouri, has been incredible. I am truly living the dream here in Columbia. There are certainly challenges that come with doing vocational ministry - sifting through emotional wreckage many student carry, hearing out those who have been burned by the church, discussing and wrestling through difficulties people have with understanding and accepting the Gospel, walking in truth and love through sin issues within the church and trying to navigate with a staff team the direction for this church that God has given us to lead. But through these challenges, I believe God has developed perseverance and character in me and my fellow workers.

He has also blessed Aimee and I tremendously. We have seen him provide for our family, bring new students who we care about to salvation, redemption and healing. We have developed a deeply-rooted community that builds up one another and helps one another to seek the Lord in all we do. He has grown our small group and built up leaders that we just recently split the group to affect another area of campus for the Gospel. He has build a Worship Ministry with solid direction and leadership. He has sent a church plant to Pittsburgh, PA. He has grown our staff and associate staff team. He has build disciples who have then gone to make disciples of their own. My sister, just last year, gave her life to the Lord, making this ministry personal to me all the more. And this year, he is going to bring me a daughter.

I am so humbled to be any part of this. I am even more humbled to be supported by Christ followers who know that we're a part of something bigger than ourselves. The sacrifice, encouragement, love and prayers sent my way each month helps me to continue to press on, bringing the Gospel to this campus.

I feel the Lord has plenty of more work for us here at Mizzou and this year, I am looking to raise support once again for GCM, in hopes of building a sustainable income and making financial changes that we'll need in anticipation of our little once.

My hope between now and August is to meet with 120 people to share with them about what God is doing at Mizzou. If I can get 40 new partners at $50/month, that will help me tremendously in letting ministry be a sustainable.

The questions on the table are these:

  • Will you prayerfully consider partnering financially with GCM to help this become a reality?
  • Is there someone you could connect me with who would let me share with them about our ministry at Mizzou?

Thank you for those who give and pray. Thank you for those considering what kind of partnership the Lord might be prompting you to. God bless and please contact me if you're interested in connecting, giving or helping in any way.

Chris
